Boda

To attend a wedding in your dream, you will speedily find that there is approaching you an occasion which will cause you bitterness and delayed success.

For a young woman to dream that her wedding is a secret is decidedly unfavorable to character. It imports her probable downfall.

If she contracts a worldly, or approved marriage, signifies she will rise in the estimation of those about her, and anticipated promises and joys will not be withheld.

If she thinks in her dream that there are parental objections, she will find that her engagement will create dissatisfaction among her relatives. For her to dream her lover weds another, foretells that she will be distressed with needless fears, as her lover will faithfully carry out his promises.

For a person to dream of being wedded, is a sad augury, as death will only be eluded by a miracle. If the wedding is a gay one and there are no ashen, pale-faced or black-robed ministers enjoining solemn vows, the reverses may be expected.

For a young woman to dream that she sees some one at her wedding dressed in mourning, denotes she will only have unhappiness in her married life. If at another's wedding, she will be grieved over the unfavorable fortune of some relative or friend. She may experience displeasure or illness where she expected happiness and health. The pleasure trips of others or her own, after this dream, may be greatly disturbed by unpleasant intrusions or surprises. See Marriage and Bride.

(See Marriage.) To dream of being at a jolly wedding, is a sign of a funeral: if you imagine that you kiss the bride, it foretells the death of a dear friend or relative. In an old dream-book, published 1808, it is stated that to dream of kissing the bride, is a sign of your own death, but on referring to the best authorities, I find it is necessary to dream that the bride should herself be the kissing party, and that an impressive kiss from her on the occasion denotes the death of the person kissed.

SEeing that marige and death have some affinity, as the one signifying the other, I purpose in this place to speake thereof: To mary a Maid, to him which is sick is deathe it is good for him which would enterprise any good businesse▪ for he shall have good issue: and he which hopeth for any good, shall obtain it: for he which marieth gets some good or dowry by his wife: to others it is trouble and divulgation: for without this men make no Weddings: but if one takes an old woman, he shall pursure not new, but old affayres, not without profit: if any one sees his wife maried to another, it is change of affayrs and actions, or else separation: if the woman dreams she is maried to any other then her husband, she shall be separated from him, or sée him dead, as some say. But I have found this not always true, but onely when the wife is not with childe, or hath no children, or hath no inheritance to fell: for if she be with childe, she shall beare a sonne whom she shall see married, and by this meanes, not her selfe but her sonne shall be maried to another. And [illegible passage] he which hath any good to sell, shall sell it and shal make a contract of covenant, as one doth for mariage.
