Your entries, optional details, and drafts are encrypted with AES-256-GCM in IndexedDB. Search, scene reflections, dream-card artwork, and emotional patterns are calculated on your device. Cards use local story cues and original artwork, with no journal or audio sent to an AI service. DreamFolia never uploads your journal.
Give your notebook a lock
By default this browser stores the local vault key so you can write immediately. Anyone with access to your browser profile can open the notebook. An optional passphrase lock wraps that key and removes the unlocked copy from persistent storage. The passphrase is never sent anywhere.
A browser is not a backup
Clearing site data, losing the device, or using private browsing can erase your notebook. Use Export in your browser vault to save a JSON backup or a Markdown copy. Exports contain readable text; keep them somewhere private. There is no account recovery or sync.
Voice stays on device
Voice capture is available only when your browser supports local speech recognition and has the required language pack. DreamFolia does not fall back to cloud transcription. You can always type or use your device keyboard dictation under its own privacy terms.
Website delivery
The site uses self-hosted assets and no third-party analytics. GitHub Pages delivers the public website and may log visitor IP addresses for security. Your private journal is not part of those requests.
