QVailes are messengers bringing ill news from sea, they crosse affinities, friendships and mariages, for they signifie noise, and seditions, and death to the sicke, if they crosse the sea. They are also crosse to voyages, for they signifie ambushes, and treasons, because they are spied, when they stye, and often fall into the hands of fowlers, and hunters. Cocks which fight are also noise, and trouble.
